The following information is regarding the “,” which will be offered in May of 2019.
Those who wish to become candidates are encouraged to send in all the necessary documents to begin the process. Those who prefer the use of English may submit all documents and take exams in English.
1. Candidacy Qualification
The applicant must be a M. Div graduate (or expected to graduate before June 30 of 2019) of a seminary (acknowledged) by KAPC.
He must have a clear confession in the tradition of the Reformed Faith; he also should be a Christian in good standing in a local church with a clear sense of calling into ministry, and with a recognized gift in leadership.

(1) OT Exegesis Text : Genesis 22:1~19

(3) Thesis Topic : Evaluate the “Online Worship Service” from the perspective of Reformed Theology
(4) Sermon Text : James 5:7~11 / Amos 8:11~14
During the exam period, candidates will be asked to preach from their written sermon.
(5) Instructions for the written assignments :
* Plagiarism will not be tolerated !!!
You must submit one hard copy and email a PDF file of each written assignment
according to the following regulations:
ⓐ Use 8-1/2" by 11" letter size papers.
ⓑ Use 12-point font (Times New Roman), 1-inch margins, double space, use page
numbering, proper footnoting, and include bibliography.
ⓒ Both thesis and exegesis papers should be about 25 pages each in length
excluding title page and bibliography. The length of the sermon text should
correspond to 30 minutes of actual preaching time.
ⓓ Use a common academic writing format, and all quotes, and cited information
must accompany proper references (i. e. footnotes or endnotes).
ⓔ All PDF files must be emailed to euihan@hotmail.com with the following
instructions:
① The subject line must include your name
② File attachments must include your name and assignment title.
(Ex. SunghoonChoOTExegesisPaper.pdf)
ⓕ You may send multiple e-mails if your files are too big.
c) Oral Interview
4. Accompanying Documents
a) A copy of the certificate of graduation of Bachelor & M. Div. degree or a letter from the registrar (or the president of a seminary) certifying that the candidate is expected to graduate before June 30 of 2021.
b) An official copy of transcript for the whole M. Div. program.
c) A letter of recommendation from the moderator of a Presbytery that the candidate is under care.
d) An official letter from a Presbytery (issued by the clerk) confirming that the candidate under care is in good standing.
e) Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a clear history of faith (For example, the year of baptism, the name of the church where the baptism was given and the name of the officiating minister, etc.)
f) Two passport-size photos of the candidate.
g) Fee: $100 (USD). Pay to the order of - KAPC
5. Instructions for Documents and Written Assignments Submission
a) All required documents and written assignments must be submitted by March 31, 2021.
(Packages post-marked before March 31, 2021 are valid. No late submissions will be accepted.)
b) The candidates will not receive back the submitted documents and assignments.
c) The results of the exam will be announced during the 45th meeting of the General
Assembly (May 18-21, 2021). The candidates who successfully sustain the examination process will
be announced on the floor and will be given Ordination Candidate Qualification Certificates.
6. Miscellaneous Information
a) Candidates must reserve rooms appropriately for the dates of exam (May 11-12, 2021)
through Rev. John Y, Song
b) Candidates may use personal notebook computers for written exams, but the following
conditions must be met :
(1) The personal notebook must contain only a Word Processing program.
(2) The screen is not to be changed during an exam. Violators will not be tolerated and will
result in dismissal from the examination room.
(3) One must bring his own printer. Any mechanical problems will not constitute a valid
excuse for failing to submit the exam on time.
